COCET
The Committee for Studying the Behaviour of Packaging in Sorting Centres (COCET) is an expert technical committee set up in 2021. It currently comprises the following members: Citeo, Derichebourg Environnement, Pellenc ST, Sepur and Tomra. COCET helps packaging manufacturers and producers contribute to better sorting of household packaging from selective collection in French sorting centres.

Citeo is a mission-led business set up in 1992 by companies in the fast-moving consumer goods and retail sectors to reduce the environmental impact of their packaging and paper waste by proposing solutions for waste reduction, reuse, sorting and recycling.
To tackle the environmental crisis and speed up the changes that are vitally needed, Citeo seeks to encourage and support economic stakeholders in developing production, retail and consumer practices that preserve resources and protect biodiversity and the climate.
Derichebourg Environnement offers a comprehensive range of services to the industrial sector, local authorities and individuals, covering the collection, recycling and recovery of end-of-life equipment and consumer goods. These services are complemented by household waste collection, urban cleaning and the management of waste and sorting centres for local authorities.
With a network of nearly 300 collection and recycling facilities worldwide, Derichebourg Environnement produces several million tonnes of recycled raw materials each year, thereby contributing to the decarbonisation of production methods and helping our territories gain independence in terms of strategic resources.
Recognised by eco-organisations, manufacturers and local authorities, Derichebourg Environnement demonstrates its expertise in waste management and recycling on a daily basis, as well as the strength of its commitment to a circular economy – of which it was one of the pioneers and is now a leading player.

Pellenc ST has been designing and manufacturing (in France) intelligent sorting equipment and connected services for the waste sorting and recycling industry since 2001. With an installed base of over 2,500 machines worldwide, Pellenc ST holds a recognised leadership position. The company has more than 250 employees and achieved a turnover of over €85 million in 2023.
With the goal of promoting a competitive and sustainable circular economy, Pellenc ST has been helping eco-organisations, producers and packaging, colorant and additive designers to eco-design their packaging since 2019. To this end, Pellenc ST offers access to its Test Centre to carry out detection and sorting tests in industrial conditions.
For almost 60 years, Sepur has been developing and strengthening its position in waste collection and urban cleanliness services as well as the operation of sorting centres, composting platforms and micro-scale anaerobic digesters.
Historically based in Thiverval-Grignon in north-central France, Sepur is the leading waste collection company in the Île-de-France region and has been operating industrial treatment facilities since 1994. Its joint strategy focuses on operational performance, the safety of its employees and sites, and the continuous innovation of its processes and tools.

TOMRA designs and manufactures optical sorting technologies for the global recycling and waste management industries. As the inventor of the world’s first high-capacity near-infrared (NIR) sensor for waste sorting applications, TOMRA remains a pioneer in the sector, with a mission to produce high-purity fractions from waste streams in order to maximise yields and revenues.
